BEST AFFIRMATIONS FOR ANXIETY

best affirmations for anxiety

Affirmation 1: This Too Shall Pass

This short affirmation may seem simple, but it is extremely powerful. It works, because more often than not, our anxieties are related to FEAR, i.e. false evidence appearing as real. As such, this affirmation quickly and effectively disarms those fears, as it helps you realize that whatever it is you are experiencing, it isn’t forever.

Affirmation 2: I Can Handle This

Anxiousness stems from panic, and panic can stem from you feeling like you won’t be able to handle whatever issue it is that is causing your worry. The concern could have some basis in fact and reality, but, more often than not, your assessment that is creating your unease is overblown.

So, use this anxiety affirmation to give you some room to think about your issue from another angle. Allow it to give you the confidence to believe their is a solution. You may just be surprised with your results.

Affirmation 3: I Release and Let Go Of All Negativity From My Life

A little bit of anxiety can be helpful, especially if it’s the anxiety we feel before a big game, event, or competition. In fact, in small doses, it can help you perform better. However, if you’re feeling anxious for long periods of time, it could be due to pent up negativity and anxiety.

This affirmation is perfect relieving some of the anxious tension you may be feeling due to negativity. So, give this affirmation for anxiety and spin, and see what happens.

Affirmation 4: I Forgive Myself As Well As Others

This isn’t your typical affirmation for anxiety but it is effective nonetheless. Sometimes, our anxieties are caused by our own stubbornness and high expectations.

That said, this affirmation gives you permission to let bygones be bygones with yourself and with others. It allows you to forgive and let be, and believe it or not, this seemingly small act can calm even the most uneasy mind.

Affirmation 5: I Breathe In The Good and Breathe Out The Bad

There are a variety of breathing techniques out there to help you calm your mind and reduce stress, and this anxiety affirmation is perfect to use in combination with them.

So, whether you decide to use those breathing techniques or not, you can rest assured that this affirmation alone, when combined with a relaxed and slow inhaling and exhaling tempo will work wonders for you.

Affirmation 6: I am Calm and In Control

Our mind can get the best of us at times. Especially when we give our doubting voice too much authority and attention. If that’s the case for you, then use this affirmation.

By affirming that you are calm and in control you let that chatterbox of a mind know who is boss.

Affirmation 7: Peace, Be Still

This affirmation is extremely powerful. First coined by one of the wisest, and arguably one of the most divine people of all-time, this affirmation is worth your time if you’re serious about taming your anxiety.

Give it a whirl and let it calm the storm that has been thrashing around in your mind.

Affirmation 8: I Have Faith In My Future

This next affirmation for anxiety is great because it can help you visually pierce through any mental clouds that you might be experiencing in your mind. There’s something about making a claim about your positive future, and seeing it before hand in your mind that is calming.

Affirmation 9: I Surrender to Peace and Tranquility

The tighter we hold on to our expectations, past hurts, and unsubstantiated fears, the worse our anxieties can feel. Holding on too tightly keeps pressure on.

However, sometimes, the best way to find immediate relief, is to just surrender. That’s right, just give up the thought, at least temporarily, that you need to bare those self-imposed burdens you’ve placed on yourself. Surrender to peace with this affirmation, and let all your pressures and worries fade into the past.

Affirmation 10: Serenity is Mine

You deserve a peaceful and serene life. And the more often you use this affirmation, the more you’ll convince yourself that a life of peace and tranquility can be yours.

You deserve a life of serenity. Take it, it’s yours.

HOW JOURNALING CAN BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE & QUALITY OF LIFE

Published

on

Journaling for Confidence

When you were a teenager, you may have kept a diary or journal hidden under your mattress. Many teenagers religiously manage sticker-covered notebooks with locks and keys in hopes their siblings, friends, or (God forbid) parents would never find them. Either way, you or some one you know has likely had some kind of a history with keeping a journal, either on paper or on your computer.

For many people, journaling on a piece of paper is the perfect place to face our fears and issues without the risk of punishment or embarrassment. Getting all those thoughts down to paper and out of your head can feel incredibly cathartic and liberating.

Unfortunately, most of us stop keeping a journal as we transition into adulthood. But we shouldn’t stop. We shouldn’t stop because regardless of age, there are immense benefits to journaling, especially when it comes to building our confidence. So, if you’ve stopped journaling, but you want or need a good nudge to starting journaling again, then let’s dive into these handful of benefits of journaling for confidence.

THE BENEFITS OF JOURNALING FOR CONFIDENCE

Benefits of Journaling for Confidence

Note: We are not professional healthcare providers: So, if you struggle with mental health like depression, stress or anxiety disorders, keeping a journal is a useful idea, but it doesn’t substitute for professional medical care. So, if your mental health is severe, please seek the assistance of professional healthcare provider.

1. Positive Mental Health Impact

Let’s start with the most powerful, but the least obvious of the many benefits of journaling for confidence: it drastically improves your quality of life. Journaling lets you regain control over your emotions, which in turns give you much more stable mental health. Here are just some of the ways journaling helps keep depression or other mental health issues at bay:

  • it lets you track your symptoms on a daily basis
  • it improves mood
  • it allows you to recognize patterns and triggers for your mental health issues
  • promotes positive self-talk
  • tackles negative thoughts and patterns through a more objective perspective
  • drastically reduces stress levels

The highest impact on stress levels is boosted by the fact that journaling allows you to identify problems and patterns that repeat on a daily basis. You can use this knowledge to avoid or tackle these issues to reduce your stress levels. Journaling is, according to psychologists, one of the healthiest coping mechanisms for people suffering from high stress levels.

It’s also a great routine to introduce before your bed time. If you have issues with falling asleep due to intrusive thoughts that pop up in your head, journaling can significantly help you get some of those thoughts out of your head. You wouldn’t believe how easier and smaller a problem seems once you put it down to paper.

2. Benefits for Physical Health

It sounds crazy, but journaling can also improve your physical functions and make you healthier. According to a study that carried out a four-month period of expressive writing (journaling) showed that short periods of journaling several times per day lower blood pressure and can even improve liver functions.

Other studies have shown that journaling boosts the immune system, and can even help heal wounds faster. Plus, when you look better, and feel better about your health, you’ll exude a more positive aura, which will help you look and feel more confident (to yourself and others.)

3. Better Memory and Focus

Another one of the benefits of journaling is its impact on your memory and focus. When you write on a daily basis, it’s like a mental exercise for your focusing capacities. Journaling every day will keep you sharp and bright. You will be able to remember small events from your life much more easily.

Ultimately, you will learn how to remember the important things by separating them from the irrelevant.

It can also help you unlock the highest levels of creativity. Many first-time journalers are amazed at the expressive power they manage to exhibit when they find themselves in front of a blank piece of paper for the first time.

4. Journaling For Confidence

The majority of people suffer from low self-confidence. It’s a condition that has a seriously debilitating effect on everyday life. However, there’s a paradox here: no one can improve their quality of life if they do not believe they are capable of doing it.

This applies to all aspects of life. That is why writing a journal will allow you to increase your confidence. So, when you begin to increase your self-esteem, you will feel different in various areas of your life. You will probably feel that you have all the skills necessary to improve your quality of life.

On the other hand, if you do not respect yourself, then there is no reason to improve your quality of life. Here’s my tip. Go ahead, grab one of those cheap composition books, find a place where you’re at peace, and start.

Write where do you want to be and what are your goals. The next day, turn your journal to a new page and write how you feel in that exact moment. Spend the next few days thinking, feeling, and writing about the future and the present moment. Whenever you catch time, turn to a fresh page and continue writing. Over the next days, continue searching for your inner self-confidence, for the strength to do, believe, and speak. It doesn’t matter if it’s about small things or big things.

5. More Gratitude

What is important here is to include everything that had a positive impact on you. It is also a good time to remember those people who made you feel good. Write down a compliment that you get, or what positive action they had with you. You can also add things you have learned and enjoyed.

By writing down each of these experiences, you will be able to remember them and therefore enjoy them again in a certain sense. Without a doubt, these positive thoughts will improve your self-esteem. However, you can also write messages for yourself by writing about your best qualities. Each of the qualities you name will be strengthened as well because you will be recognizing them.

So, one of last benefits of journaling is that is also increases mindfulness and self-awareness. The act of writing things down allows you to be more aware of your life and behavior. Increasing the self-awareness of your emotions leads to more self-confidence.

Why? Because now you have a choice. You get to be in control of your actions instead of going through the motions without thinking about it. The result of all of this is a stronger self-confidence.

Conclusion

Journaling is good for you on several levels – the physical, mental, emotional and even spiritual. It allows you to tap into the best version of yourself and start building upwards from there.

When you keep a journal, you get to know yourself all over again, which will ultimately improve your confidence. These days, many of us form our opinions about ourselves depending on what the media tells us or how closet to us treat us.

However, it goes much deeper than that. In order to find deep and lasting self-love, you have to know yourself well. And there is no better way to do that than by keeping a journal. If you manage to keep one for several years, you will even be able to witness the progression of your character and all the events in your life from a bird’s eye view.

So, if you’re not currently journaling for confidence, go out and get yourself a journal and get started today. Your more confident future self will thank you for it.

Till you reach your aims,

THE 10 CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD WORK ETHIC

Published

on

characteristics of a good work ethic

When we look at the people who’ve had great success in life, we often wonder how they reached that point. In some cases, we notice it has been due to dubious dealings, but for the most part, the success that achievers enjoy all boils down to one simple thing: having a good work ethic. Most CEOs of large corporations, A-list movie stars, and high-earning athletes all got to where they are due to hard work. So, what are some of the characteristics of a good work ethic?

Well, having a good work ethic shows up in how a person conducts themselves in terms of their respective job or field of expertise. Those who obtain success generally have a good work ethic at their core. Some characteristics include being punctual, prioritizing, showing professionalism, going the extra mile, being disciplined, and having an eagerness to do great work.

Regardless of the field of work you are in; there is always emphasis on the fundamentals of a good work ethic to get hired, get ahead, or progress with a company. Its a tried and true recipe that many have adopted. With that said, our aim is to help you find more success in all aspects of your life, as such, we’ll be uncovering the top aspects of a good work ethic, to help stand out and make progress towards finding more success both on the job and in your life.

So, if you’re ready to learn more about the top traits of a good work ethic, let’s dive on in:

GOOD WORK ETHIC CHARACTERISTIC TO ADOPT FOR MORE SUCCESS

good work ethic characteristics

1.  Time Management And Being Punctual:

Showing up on time is a terrifically advantageous move on anyone’s part, and this is what we see in those that have made their mark. By managing their time accordingly and ensuring that they are never late to work, meetings, or responsibilities in general, these people are a step ahead of the rest.

People who arrive on time, being early is better, are perceived as dependable and showing that they value their work and prioritize starting on time. You will also find that people who arrive early to work often stay past the hour when they could be clocking out.

Adopting this sort of mentality will aid your work life and spill over into the other areas of life.

2. Prioritization And Productivity:

There are times when the workflow is jam-packed, and one needs to be able to prioritize tasks to ensure that their productivity stays at a steady pace. People who know how to distinguish between what is vital and what can wait save themselves a lot of headaches and stress.

By working in this fashion, one can offer more significant outputs than their colleagues, and they manage to complete more than what is merely required of them in a given timeframe. At times, one’s boss will guide them to learn how to increase productivity, but sometimes one has to demonstrate that they can organize themselves efficiently.

Being more productive is ultimately likely to draw attention from relevant parties and see one receive better incentives.

3. Showing Initiative And Self-Discipline:

As seen in the previous point, one can almost always improve how one works. Making the process more seamless and streamlined comes with taking the initiative and being disciplined enough to get the job done without constantly being told what is required.

characteristic of work ethic is initiative and discipline

With self-discipline, one usually seeks to push themselves to do better and complete tasks without constant guidance and instruction. This sort of behavior makes one more confident as you feel more assertive and in charge of your role. It also shines a good light on you and will surely attract the attention of those around you.

4. Having Clear Goals:

Some of these previous points lead into and spawn from having preset goals and objectives that one needs to achieve within work and their life. People with a good work ethic are constantly striving towards something, and these goals are usually clear and concise. Another important factor is that they will have big ambitions, but they will also be realistic in setting the points they hope to reach.

Before setting out to pursue a goal, one has to know what the purpose is and how they will ultimately be reaching the mark set. So when setting goals, be sure to understand what is required of you fully and then try to push yourself to achieve what you have set out to do.

5. Showing Dedication And Taking Pride In One’s Work:

Many of the other aspects of a good work ethic lead into and play a part in developing one’s dedication to their work and ultimately the pride they have for it. People who are dedicated to what they do will not be tardy, they will show initiative, and their productivity is usually relatively high.

This is because they have set themselves to the task of growing in whichever field they find themselves in. If you commit yourself to your work, you will find that you grow in your discipline, and you will constantly set goals that you are proud of achieving. We all know when we have given our best, and people who do so consistently are genuine assets to those around them.

6. Not Afraid Of Failure:

One thing is certain: people who have seen success in life and who have a good work ethic are not scared of failing. No one enjoys failure, but instead of fearing and dreading the possibility of it, they embrace it as a learning curve.

top work ethic traits - no fear of failure

People, who do not angst about whether they have made a mistake, are more likely to learn and push harder in the future.

It must be noted that not having a fear of failure does not equate to being willing to set yourself up for failure. Some people set themselves up for failure as they do not have a good work ethic. Instead, you should strive to succeed in all you do, and if you make a mistake, then take what you have learned from it and implement it when making future decisions.

7. Professionalism:

Out of all of the good work ethic qualities mentioned, this is one that gets overlooked the most; showing professionalism.

When we think of someone who exudes professionalism, various aspects come into play. From the way they speak, dress, and how they interact with others, one’s whole attitude comes into play. Someone who shows professionalism is polite, courteous, focused, and organized.

To adopt the various aspects of professionalism, one needs first to have self-respect and respect for others. You then need to take your work seriously and utilize all the other attributes we have discussed. Being professional about things does not mean there is no enjoyment, but rather a certain air about how you conduct yourself in the workplace.

8. Being Cooperative And A Team Player:

Cooperative people are not pushovers. Instead, they are merely mature in their interpersonal skills and understand the importance of teamwork. People equipped with a good work ethic tend to make an effort to work well with others, even if they do not always agree with other people or like them in a personal capacity.

Such people realize that the work is a priority, and ensuring a harmonious environment to work in is something that aids this greatly. Having good manners and being polite come into play here as well as being able to handle conflict in a tactful way.

9. Avoiding Distractions:

In years gone by, there were not as many distractions so readily available to us. And despite the wonder of the plethora of forms of communication and entertainment we have these days, they can cause one to become distracted from work. Now someone with a good work ethic will note the distractions that are tempting to them and find ways to avoid them.

avoiding distractions is a key characteristic of a good work ethic

In short, being able to stay focused and avoid distractions is key to having a good work ethic.

One way to do this is to not engage with personal or entertainment-based material. This can be done by having a work phone and a personal device. Then while at work, you only answer what is required for the job, and you restrict yourself to say only viewing your personal phone during lunch. This will aid in keeping you focused on the task at hand and keep your workflow going at a steady pace.

10. Maintaining A Positive State Of Mind:

Although last on the list, this point is still incredibly vital when it comes to having a good work ethic. People who can keep a positive mindset tend to look for solutions instead of problems. They are thus more efficient at their jobs and are more likely to get along better with colleagues as they do not allow negative things to fester.

Keeping positive is not always easy, and on certain days, the best among us have probably succumbed to negative thinking. However, it is something which we need to practice and train ourselves to do to ensure that our overall work ethic is not affected.

Final Thoughts

We hope we answered your questions as to what are the 10 work ethics. To help it really stick, here’s a quick recap of the key characteristics of work ethics:

  • Time Management and Punctuality
  • Prioritization and Productivity
  • Showing Initiative and Self-Discipline
  • Having Clear goals
  • Showing Dedication and Taking Pride In Your Work
  • Not Being Afraid of Failure
  • Professionalism
  • Being Cooperative and a Team Player
  • Avoiding Distractions
  • Maintaining a Positive State of Mind

That said, a person with a good work ethic is not necessarily a robot; they are usually delightful and fun to be around. The only difference between someone who has a good work ethic and one who does not, is that the latter will likely stagnate in life and allow the hardships of life to break them down and discourage their progress.

“Developing A Good Work Ethic Is Key To Success. Apply Yourself At Whatever You Do, Whether You’re A Janitor Or Taking Your First Summer Job, Because That Work Ethic Will Be Reflected In Everything You Do.”

tyler perry

The opposite is true for someone with a good work ethic, as they are constantly striving to improve and do better. They are also consistent, which is a key factor to success. So if you are hoping to improve your overall work ethic, or if you’re seeking to encourage someone else, then this list is a great place to start the journey.

10 STEPS TO REWRITE YOUR STORY AND CHANGE YOUR LIFE IN 2023

Published

on

Rewrite Your Story

We’ve all been there – those moments in life when we struggle to find a positive footing due to some of life’s struggles.

But, did you know your personal narrative could be a cause and/or symptom of your situation?

Either way, you know how terrible it can be if you’re on this less than pleasant path.

And typically, the only solution to improve your situation is to change your life. But to change your life, you’ll first need to change your story.

So, let’s get serious and make the decision today to rewrite your story.

With that being said, here are ten steps to help you start the process of life change!

If You Want to Rewrite Your Story, Follow These Steps…

How to Rewrite Your Story

1. Overcome Negativity Bias

The human brain is wired to make bad stuff stick in a much stronger way than good ones. So, even if you have an equal share of both positive and negative experiences, the brain tends to emphasize the negative ones above the positives.

Psychologists refer to this phenomenon as the negativity bias, and it’s a trap.

It can impact your story and sabotage your success. This is why I recommend overcoming this as the very first thing to do if you want to rewrite your story. Make a conscious decision to focus on the positives in your life once the negativity starts to creep in. This will help put you on alert so you can minimize this bias as you set out to create a new story.

2. Be The Author of Your Own Story

This is more about your mindset than it is about other things. If it’s your story, own it.

Putting yourself in charge as the creator of your story will impact your perspective and approach to life. Rather than living as someone who thinks life just happens to them, you live life as the creator of your own future and destiny.

By creating your story, you can assert your influence on the personality you want to create as well as on the characters embedded within your story, among other things. While external opinions might be considered, you’re the sole authority in charge of which opinions are worth consideration as well as those that belong in the bin.

3. Develop a New Theme For Your Story

Every story should present a narrative to the reader. Likewise when you rewrite your story, you need to find a theme to focus your new story around. Chances are you’ve been focusing on negative and discouraging themes up until this point. It’s time to associate your life’s story with a more encouraging theme.

Consider changing your life’s theme from ‘failure’ to ‘growth.’ And rather than ‘condemnation’, carve your story around ‘redemption.’ In the end, choosing an overriding theme that’s positive and encouraging as this can help change your realities and perspective.

Rewrite Your Story Quotes - C.S. Lewis

4.  Consider Closing Chapters That Need to End

The story of your life will have many chapters. Some of these chapters will be phenomenal. But some will leave little to be desired. If you don’t like the way a certain chapter is unfolding, perhaps it’s time to close it. One bad chapter is not going to be the end of your story.

Take a moment and reflect on certain aspects of your story (life).

Identify key aspects and leverage them to your advantage. If you’re at this point where the way forward does not hold significant promise, gather courage, end that chapter, and leverage the opportunity to start on a clean slate.

5. Embrace Change to Move Forward

Many people are afraid of change. They fear it will knock them off their game for good. But there’s no real growth when you’re approaching key aspects of your life with a rigid mindset.

The whole idea of rewriting your story is about forging a new path. Change is inevitable, no matter how hard it might seem. According to Inc, looking beyond your doubts, fears, and uncertainties to analyze your life, identify the negatives, and take the right steps to change, is requisite for growth and success at work and life.

6. Take Steps to Kill Your Villain

In every story, there’s often a bad guy that ends up defeated. While writing your story, you also should focus on ways to defeat your villains. You need to decide on how you’d go about this.

These villains can come in different forms. It could be the bad company you keep or the bad habits you wish you could stop. Within your story, you need to establish the steps and plans you’ll put in place to defeat these sources of negativities in whichever form they appear.

7. To Rewrite Your Story Change Your Environment

Your environment or location is one of the powerful forces of your life.

Depending on how it is set up, this could either empower or hinder your success. So, if you plan on changing your life, you should also consider changing your environment.

Take this research by the American Psychological Association, for instance. It showed that people working abroad tend to be more creative than those within international boundaries.  This does not mean you have to pack up and relocate abroad or elsewhere, I’m just using it as a reference to the power of your immediate environment.

Your place of work, where you hang out with friends, as well as your neighborhood can encourage or sabotage your growth efforts. If your path forward does not seem promising in your current environment, change it. You’re not a tree!

Rewrite Your Story Quote - Ireland Gill

8. Choose The Right Supporting Cast

While you’ll always be the main character in your story, your supporting cast will also play vital roles. If you’re rewriting your story, you’ll need to introduce new characters that may not be in your previous life. The wise thing to do is to choose the right people to go with.

Perhaps you’re creating a new story based around freedom from addiction; you’ll want to keep away from potentially toxic peers who may influence you back to this habit.

In the same vein, if you’re striving for growth in your professional life, you’ll probably want to consider joining professional networks that will prove valuable towards that end. Whatever may be the driving force for your story, you need to surround yourself with the right people to help you as you set out to achieve your goals.

9. Create Strong Goals

Speaking of goals, rewriting your story is also about rewriting your goals. The goals you’ve had in the past may no longer be serving you. So, considering creating some goals that will inspire and enliven your outlook.

Of course, you’ll want to ensure that your goals are S.M.A.R.T., but the important thing is that you create strong goals for yourself. Goals that will pull energize and pull you into action. Because let’s be honest, if you want to change your life and your story, it is going to require lots of action.

10. Keep At It

Now that you’ve rewritten your story and are taking action to change your life, it’s important to understand that challenges and setbacks will surely surface. Whether or not you end up successful will depend on how resilient and persistent you are.

Everything we’ve mentioned here should be adhered to religiously. You’ll need to keep practicing and doing the right things until they become habits for you.

So keep at it and persist, and positive change will come.

Final Thoughts on Rewriting Your Story

The past belongs in the past. But the future is well within your control.

Regardless of where you are in life, you can always reframe and rewrite your story for the better. The tips above are tested and proven if you feel stuck and want to take charge of your life. You can’t keep blaming others for the way your life has turned out.

Do an honest assessment and take a moment of deep reflection. Don’t allow the current torn and undesirable chapters of your life to extend longer than necessary. Discover a new theme for your life and become the author of your own story. These and the other steps will help you rewrite your life and in the process, create a new reality for yourself.

Till next time,

SMALL CHANGES BIG RESULTS; THE SIMPLE PATH TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE

Published

on

Small Changes Big Results

Small changes big results. It’s achievable, just ask Admiral Will H. McRaven who once stated, “If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed”

On the face of it, it seems like a pretty stupid quote, right? How will making your bed in the morning change the world?

Well, obviously it won’t. Not immediately anyway. But the idea behind it is that something as small as making your bed in the morning can have a much larger impact than one would think.

Still not convinced?

Let’s take a look at how small, frequent changes can turn your life around and produce huge results…

Why Small Steps?

So why would you take small steps? Why not just dive in and go all out?

Well, there isn’t a singular remedy to achieving long-term or short-term goals through one medium. Hence why some people follow different diets, they do what works for them, and ‘diving-in’ headfirst may work for you.

But the idea of taking small steps every day comes from a place of gradual change and progress rather than immediate impact. Think of achieving your goals as training to run a marathon. Chances are you can’t just get up and run 26 miles, nor would it be the wisest decision either.

Small Changes You Can Do Every Day

Big changes start with small steps. Before taking any action, we first have to figure out the destination. Where do you want to go? What do you want to achieve? When do you want to achieve it?

small changes big results

Maybe the initial goal is to lose 28 pounds within 3 months. It seems pretty daunting on the face of it, right? But what if we changed the thought process and made small changes every week?

When breaking it down you’ll find that you only need to lose around 9 pounds a month, meaning only around 2 pounds a week. The goal then becomes a lot more manageable and achievable, right?

But in reality, the objective hasn’t changed, just the way we approach it has.

The Benefits

So, we’ve learned what making small changes means in a day-to-day scenario and how it can lead to accomplishing a larger goal, but what are the benefits of doing so?

The benefits of starting small can come in many different forms, depending on the person. Some people may be motivated by routine, while others may be solely motivated by the results.

Either way, by starting small there really is no room for error. You won’t overwork yourself and loose interest within a week. You won’t have to wait months on end for a sense of achievement and satisfaction, as small wins each day will keep you focused and motivated.

But most of all, by starting small you won’t need the preparation or to wait for the ‘right moment’, you can do it now! “Small changes make a big difference.”

THE 5 MINDSETS FOR SUCCESS YOU SHOULD DEVELOP A.S.A.P.

Published

on

Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, “The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.” And you know what, Arnold was right. Success is about mindset. Because what you think, you become. So, that’s what we will be covering on this page, the mindsets for success.

Here’s the thing, you are where you are right now because of your thinking. It is your mind that determines your decisions and actions, and hence, your results.

So, if you are living in poverty, in debt, and feel as though you are stuck in life at the moment, guess what, it is because of your thinking. On the contrary, if you have a successful career, living a good life, have a great family, and enjoy your life every day, it is because of your mindset too.

How you think is how you will act and react. And how you act and react will determine what you will ultimately get in life.

Therefore, if you want to achieve great success in life, the first thing you need to do is to develop the right ways of thinking.  As such, we are providing below the 5 mindsets for success you should seek to adopt to achieve the outstanding life you desire. Let’s dive in!

THE 5 MINDSETS FOR SUCCESS

the mindsets for success

1. Cultivate a Growth Mindset

First, you must cultivate a growth mindset. Most people have a fixed mentality where they believe that everything is fixed, and they can’t change it.

For example, if you think you are bad at math and hence, you can’t accomplish much in life, that’s a fixed mindset.

A growth mindset, on the other hand, is a way of thinking where everything is possible and if you don’t like it, you can change it.

For instance, you may be an engineering graduate and you know nothing about economics and finance. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t succeed financially through investing. And that’s the growth mindset.

When you adopted the growth mindset, you believe you can improve, learn, and acquire new skills to become successful. If you lack the talent or skill, you can learn it. If you don’t have the luck, you can create it.

That’s a growth mindset. It is a thinking that allows every successful entrepreneur like Elon Musk to make their dreams a reality. Because they believe they can do it.

2. Treat Failures as Feedback

The second mindset for success that you should aim to develop, is to believe that failures are not the opposite of success.

You see, many people think that failure is bad. They think that failure means they have failed, and they look at it as something negative. But nothing is further from the truth.

In fact, the more you fail, the more likely you are going to be successful.

Why? Well, Tony Robbins sums it wisely by saying, “Success is the result of good judgement, which is the result of experience, experience is often the result of bad judgement.”

Thus, don’t be afraid to fail. Many people are not successful because they are afraid of failures. They want to start an online business, but they worry that they are going to fail. Some want to become a writer, a best-selling author, or an artist, but they doubt if they can make it. They put too much emphasis on failing, and as a result never start anything.

Never let a fear of failure stop you. The same goes for when you experience failure as well. Instead, treat failure as feedback. When you win, you celebrate, but when you lose, you ponder. And that’s when you learn new things, through experience and feedback.

So, look at failures as experience. And never forget, that so long as you learn something out of your failure, you never truly fail.

3. Focus on Abundance, Not Scarcity

Another mindset for success you’ll want to develop is to always focus on abundance, not scarcity. When you think from a scarcity mentality, you become a loser because when others win, it means that you lose. This kind of thinking breeds fear and paranoia.

While it is true that in a sports competition, there can be only one champion, but that doesn’t mean the runner-up is a loser. If you lose in a competition, don’t look at it as a failure. Instead, look at it as an opportunity to come back stronger. When you think that way, you don’t really lose.

In business, if you hold on to a scarcity mentality, you will fail. You will not share your best strategies and you will never give the best to your clients and customers. Because you believe that if they win, it means you are losing.

Hence, you will hold back and don’t give 100%. That’s when you will lose your business.

On the contrary, when you give your best to your clients and customers, people will love you for being over-deliver. They fall in love with your products and services, they refer friends to you and become your ambassadors. That’s how you succeed.

So, throw away the scarcity mentality and adopt the abundance mentality. Focus on abundance and prosperity because there is truly more than enough for everyone.

4. Be Willing to Be Different

Next, you want to tell yourself that it is okay to be different, to be unique, and to be yourself. If you are too afraid to try new things because you worry you will be different than others, you will never achieve outstanding success in life.

The moment you try to be like everybody to fit it, you become ordinary. You become like everyone else.

So, don’t be afraid to break the rules. If you are playing it too safe, you can never create breakthroughs. People who refuse to take risks will never venture out of their comfort zone to try new things.

When you refuse to be different, you will stay within your comfort zone, and that prevents your growth.

Always remember this inspiring quote from Mark Twain, “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Hence, dare to be different and have the courage to venture out of your comfort zone.

5. Be Willing to Learn and Improve

The last of these mindsets for success you should adopt is to be willing to learn and improve. Most people don’t read after they graduated from school. Yet, they dream about being successful and living big in life.

If you are not learning, you are not growing. And if you are not growing, there is no way you can improve and get to a new and higher ground.

Commit to reading at least a book every month. And if you learn a good idea from every book you read, in a year, you will have 12 good ideas. And if you continue to read for the next 5 years, you will learn 60 new ideas to improve your life, to become better, and to succeed.

That’s how powerful reading and learning can be. Successful people are always willing to learn and improve themselves. That’s how they manage to create extraordinary success because they keep growing themselves every day. And you should do the same too if you want to strive for greater success in life.
